Deira has traded gold for generations. In 2026 that trade got a formal address: the Dubai Gold District, launched as a purpose-built destination consolidating retail jewellery, bullion trading, wholesale activity and investment services in one commercial hub. It sits in historic Deira and was developed by Ithra Dubai as part of the wider Deira enrichment programme.
Why a district, and why now
The demand side explains most of it. The UAE's ultra high net worth population is growing, with projections putting the increase at around 36 percent by 2031. Dubai is already one of the most active secondary watch markets anywhere, in large part because the gap between authorised dealer availability and actual buyer demand has been filled by the pre-owned trade rather than by waiting lists.
What it changes for buyers
Consolidation makes comparison easier, which is good for anyone buying seriously. It also raises the floor on presentation and paperwork across the quarter, which is good for everyone except the parts of the trade that were relying on neither.
We have worked from the Gold Souq since 1999. The quarter changing around us does not change how a watch gets checked before it is offered.
Prices, in context
For a sense of the market in mid 2026: around AED 50,000 in Dubai's pre-owned market reaches the entry point of a Submariner Date or a GMT-Master II, and clean examples of earlier generation Submariners. Below AED 45,000 the field opens to Oyster Perpetual, Datejust 41, the Tudor Black Bay range and Cartier Santos references. Our own catalogue sits above that, because it is built around the references collectors ask for by number.
Come and see
Photography flattens a watch. If you are in Dubai, the boutique is in the Gold Souq, Deira, and no appointment is needed.
